Dr. Annija Egle

A consultant radiologist with extensive experience in performing ultrasound examinations for adults, pregnant women, and pediatric patients. Specialized in abdominal, breast, thyroid, superficial soft tissue, and lymph node ultrasonography.

Medical education obtained at Riga Stradiņš University (2009–2015). Completed residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Latvia and Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital (2015–2020).

Professional experience has been further enhanced through clinical training and practice at G. Martino University Hospital in Messina, Italy; Leipzig University Hospital, Germany; and through long-term employment at Sozialmedizinisches Zentrum Süd (Kaiser Franz Josef Hospital) in Vienna, Austria (2017–2024), gaining broad experience in diagnostic radiology as well as in surgical, oncology, and neurology departments.

Currently works across several hospitals and medical centers in Latvia, including regional hospitals and outpatient healthcare facilities. In 2025, served as Acting Head of the Diagnostic Radiology Department at Ogre District Hospital. In addition to clinical practice, has experience in academic teaching (Lecturer at the University of Latvia, Riga 1st Medical College) and in consultative work at the State Centre for Forensic Medical Examination.

Daily practice focuses on ultrasound diagnostics, with particular emphasis on diagnostic accuracy, thorough examination technique, and clear communication of results to patients. Currently continuing professional development in the subspecialty of Osteopathy at the University of Latvia. Consultations are provided in Latvian, Russian, English, and German.
